Born on 23 April 1953 by late father Yonasani Muwanga and late mother Yozefina Nantongo of Kiwanga – Kyaggwe.
One late sister Nassozi and one brother Engineer George W. Kiwanuka.
Married to Sarah J. K. Sozi a school teacher who ministers with him most times.
They both have one daughter Dorothy Nasozi married to Yona Namawa and a son Engineer Joel M. Kyobe Sozi.
Hadassah, Jedidiah and Shalom are the three grandchildren.
Trained shortly at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA, USA after which he came back to Uganda to become the founding pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Uganda. Pastor Sozi also pastored in the underground church during the time of de is a dictator Idi Amin Dada and he is a survivor of persecution of Christianity during Amin’s regime. Pastor Sozi is currently one of the pastors of Capital Community Church in Kampala City.
Back To God Evangelistic Association, an organization he founded in 1983, conducts evangelistic campaigns, championed HIV/AIDS awareness and runs schools for orphaned and needy children. During one of the campaigns in 2014, at Amudat, found in Karamoja Region, he was challenged by the Pokot population who are only 3% literate! He and his wife started a 25 year project of educating and training children from this community who will later go back as MOSES-es.
Pastor Sozi is the Vice Chairman of Elders’ Council of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches in Uganda; www.nfbpc.org and for 15 years he served as Board Member of the World Reformed Fellowship; www.wrfnet.org. He is a farmer and operates Urban and Rural demonstration farms where he trains people innovations for authentic transformation so that people can come out of poverty.
Recently, he joined as director with a young IT innovator Mr. Henry Damulira, founder of Air Save Uganda; www.airsaveuganda.com a digital saving platform, using Mobile Phones.
For a long time, Pastor Sozi has had ministry and family relationships with Apostle Dr. John Mulinde founder of World Trumpet Mission (WTM) www.worldtrumpet.com. and now by God’s grace Pastor Sozi is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of World Trumpet Mission.
